Father Mirek’s Announcements

Dear OLA Parishioners and Friends,

Thank you for your amazing participation in the celebra- tions of Easter Season here at our parish. Your presence at our Sunday and daily Masses, at our events and prayer is very encouraging, so thank you for your witness.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some information about the project and events happening around our parish.

First of all, by now you have realized that the major repairs are taking place around our Church Bell Tower. Hopefully, after all of it is done, the repairs will prevent further leaks and damage to the physical structure of our Church, so I thank you for being patient with us and apologize for any inconvenience you might have experienced.

Secondly, by now you are aware that a Eucharistic Congress will take place in the United States of America this summer, and as an integral part of the Congress many Dioceses in the country are holding numerous events pro- moting, exercising and participating in such a prayerful events. Before the main diocesan Mass on June 1, 2024 at the Fairfield University, Parish of OL of Assumption will have our own moment in the Eucharistic procession that will march thorough our Diocese of Bridgeport between May 19 and 22. We will be hosting as a parish, the Blessed Sacrament and Eucharistic Procession on Monday, May 20 between 12:15pm and 1PM. I hope many of you will be able to stop by, offer this part of the day and welcome pil- grims, procession participants and the Blessed Sacrament onto our property in this Historic Event.

I am very grateful to Mr. Bilal Gilbertie for agreeing to be our parish coordinator of this event, and for sharing with us on the pages of our bulletin, updates of the progress of the Eucharistic Procession and his own testimony of faith and love of the Blessed Sacrament.
