Welcome to our Spring ( Lent) Session of Bible Study
Topic: Introduction to the Old and New Testament
Time: Wednesdays, Feb 28 to March 20, 2024 at 6:30PM Location: Parish Center meeting room
Material: The Bible ( preferably Catholic study Edition), Col- legeville Bible Commentary Series, Volume: Introduction: Old Testament and New Testament ( will be provided) and Handouts and Instructional Material provided by Fr. Mirek
In his famous painting The Blind leading the Blind Flemish Master Pieter Breughel (The Elder) shows us a very popu- lar parable of Jesus described on the pages of St. Mat- thews Gospel (see Matthew 15:14) in a very unique way. Every time I look at that painting, it is a stern reminder of how important my ongoing formation is; how could I possi- bly share my faith with someone else, if don’t practice it; how I could lead someone on spiritual journey if I am myself blind and don’t know where to go? Beginning with small steps we could remind each other important truths of our faith contained in the Bible, we could learn once more about Christ fulfilling the Old Covenant through the New One. Ongoing Formation of a Christian could begin with small steps of re – discovering all we have learned so far in completely new light. That is why I invite you to join me Wednesday evenings as we offer again very beginner intro- duction to Old and New Testament.
Hope to see many of you!
Stations of the Cross
As we begin the season of Lent, please join us as we pray and meditate at each Station to commemorate the Passion of Christ and His sacrifice for us. Our service will take place on Fridays at 6:15 PM in Church and will continue until Good Friday. All are welcome to follow the journey of Christ.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Will take place on First Friday, March 1, following the 7:30 a.m. Mass and will conclude on First Saturday, March 2, prior to the 7:30 a.m. Mass. Due to Masses on Friday at 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM, the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed during these times. All are welcome to come and spend an hour with Jesus.
Easter Flower Remembrance
Your loved ones who are memorialized and honored with your Easter Flower contributions will be remembered at the Paschal Vigil, the first celebration of the risen Christ, which will be celebrated at 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 30th. If you would
like to include the names of your loved ones, please submit your envelope by Sunday, March 24th. The names of your loved ones will also appear in our parish bulletin. Easter Flower envelopes have been included in your envelope packet and are available in the rack in the Church vestibule. You may also give through Online Giving.
Our next two Family Masses will be celebrated on March
10 and March 17 (note, one week early due to Palm Sunday) at the 9:00 AM Mass. All young children can participate in the Sunday Homily. Being involved at Mass, your children will be reminded of the REAL meaning of Jesus’ life and teachings.
