The Seven Church Visit Tradition and Pilgrimage
The Seven-Church Walk has its roots in the later half of the 16th century, and originated with the Oratory movement founded by St. Philip Neri. This practice continues today in many areas of the world on Holy Thursday (April 17) Evening following The Mass of Our Lord’s Supper. After Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place. Those who would like to participate in this pilgrimage will leave here, your first visit, and travel to nearby churches to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.
